Same boring day as before. I sit slumped in my chair in 7th period Math class. Mrs.Jules talking of theorems, and percentages. Her voice seemingly talking in slow motion. Instead of listening, I look outside our window. We’re on the second floor of the school, so all that's seen is the roof, and a white sky, with flurries of snow falling idly to the ground. It's quite peaceful. So peaceful in fact, that I decided to rest my head for a bit. Deciding it was wrong to sleep in class, I lifted my head. However, I was taken aback by how fast the snow was falling. A blizzard! “Mrs.Jules!” i said raising my hand, “The snow! The snow.” However she didn’t answer, she didn’t even move. No one did. I got up, waving my hands in front of everyone's faces. It was as if they were frozen! I touched a classmate's arm, and instantly felt a cold spike throughout my body. Shivering, I stepped into the hall. Outside was what looked like a wax museum, of frozen students, and staff. “Hello!” I called, receiving an echo in return. It was eerily silent. Then a cold wind blew through the hall. I was suddenly pushed into a dark classroom. “Please don’t hurt me!” I pleaded childishly. I was answered with a quiet “Shh.” Though I couldn’t see who was there. Then, footsteps, from outside. What sounded like heels. I peered warily through the keyhole, and saw a person. Though not like most people, no. This person had a long white dress that draped over her dainty shoulders. She was wearing blue shiny heels that looked to be made of ice. Her hair, as white as her dress, and skin tinted a light blue. Atop her head a crown of ice, with shimmery gold. She passed by slowly. I held my breath. When she’d finally passed. I slowly turned around to see who saved me. At least I hope they saved me. Behind me I found a white rabbit. “You saved me?” I asked it confused. It nodded in reply to my surprise. Then it spoke, “I am Norman, from the snow island. Our queen is looking for something. She believes you guys have it.”
“What? What is she looking for?” I asked.
“A necklace, she believes it holds all the power to make Earth part of her kingdom.”
“What?!” I say a little too loud. The ground shakes, and I feel a cold wind, but nothing happens.
“Follow me” the bunny whispers. I follow him from the classroom into the hallway, noticing a trail of ice from where the snow queen walked. He pushes a door open to reveal a strong glow. My eyes adjust and I see what it is. A bright blue crystal necklace floating in a sea of bright glowing liquid.
“You must return this to its spot in the eagle. Hurry!” the rabbit yells. A strong gust of wind turns the rabbit into snow upon the ground. I turn and see the snow queen in the door. Her eyes pierce my skin, and in a menacing tone she says. “Give. Me. The. Necklace.” I run, fast, to the classroom next door, and down the hallway. The air continues to get colder and colder. Instead of panicking, I try to decipher the rabbit's riddle. An eagle? Oh wait! The statue! However the path to get there would cause me to run straight into the queen. With all I had in me, I ran straight towards her. She gasps, trying to grab me. But I slip right past her. Continuing to pick up speed, I run down the stairs. Her close behind. I can hear her voice, the cold that follows with. Then, I catch sight of it. The eagle! I’m about to get there when I slip. I fall hard, clutching tightly to the necklace. I look up at the queen above me. She looks tired.
“Give it to me” she hisses, holding out a hand with long pointy nails.
“NO!” I yell. Kicking snow in her face. I stand up, but she catches my shoulder, holding me back. With all hope lost, I feel my legs starting to freeze, then my arm. Something catches the corner of my eye. A white rabbit. With all the strength I have left, I throw the necklace. My eyes go dark. I feel warm, hear voices near me. I open my eyes. I’m back in Math! It was all a dream! I take a deep breath. Grateful everyone wasn’t frozen. I look out at the softly falling snow, and see a white rabbit on the roof. What? It waves at me,then turns into a gust of snow. “Strange” I think to myself.
